Agro Koni
Founded in 1992 as a collection point for fruits and vegetables in Maminas, Durrës, Agro Koni soon managed to spread its activity throughout Albania. In 2007, Agro Koni becomes part of the seedling production. Working with prestigious seed production firms like Sakata, Hazera, Esasem, etc., it gradually becomes a leader in seedling production.

Sustainability
Founded in 1997, Agro Koni is a agricultural company which it main focus is on producing seedlings and distributing a wide range of products to the farmers. They are one of the first nurseries in Albania and example for its competitors. In 2014, in collaboration with Bio Best NV, they introduced in the Albanian market the B.t., the pollination bee. This way the farmer would not use hormones for pollination and therefore the product might have higher than normal residuals or it would have problems with it’s shape, making it untradable. Also, in 2021 they started a campaign to introduce other types of beneficial insects.
Agro Koni has more than 60% of it’s staff consisting of women, in administrative and operative work position.
Agro Koni uses in its greenhouses only olive cake as way of heating resource since 2010. Being that it is a residual from olive oil companies, the cost of it basically to nothing (0.08-0.1 EUR per kilo) and it is the perfect substitute for diesel or gas. This way, Agro Koni helps reducing the pollution from those residuals.
Agro Koni implements new and modern practices in its way of producing grafted seedlings and two stem seedlings. This way the farmer will increase his production and will utilize better his field. Therefore the farmers will generate more revenues from their production.
Agro Koni is a pioneer in Albania for sustainable production, by introducing B.t., sticky traps, pheromones and master classes, to reduce use of harmful pesticides, it has created a new culture on Albanian farmer. With the help of its farmers, Agro Koni aims to train the farmers to be more responsible in their production.
